Jehad Ariff and his brothers in 1965, to establish the de-facto standard for the popularly known ‘chain link’ fencing in the country stems from his heritage in the hardware trade as a former partner M/s Abdul Jabbar & Sons. Today, the MACSON range of galvanized and PVC coated wire mesh/fence fabric products and gabions manufactured to local and international standards are sought after not only in Sri Lanka but also by custom orders in the European, South African and Indian markets. Founded as Macson Industries, Macson Mesh was the local solution to the import substitution era in the 1960’s in Sri Lanka. Soon the acid test in the formative years helped the company stave off intense competition from European, Chinese, Indian and other imports in establishing a product quality that met international standards. In 1988, the organization transformed to Macson Mesh Industries (Pvt) Ltd, a limited liability company (LLC) towards achieving its vision of a market leader of wire products in Sri Lanka and the South Asian market. Macson products are produced at its modern production facility at Horana in the capital district with easy all-island distribution access to highways and major road networks. This modern production facility equipped with state-of-the-art technology and equipment is continuously upgraded to conform to major international standard specifications and production processes.
